WoodCheck is designed as an offline-first woodworking quality-assurance tool. Its core project, checklist, inspection, photo, and report workflows run in a private local workspace on your device. WoodCheck does not require an account and does not operate a developer-hosted service that receives your project records.
Information You Enter or Create
You may enter or create project names and types, client names, workshop or job-site locations, dates, project notes, checklist and template content, inspection results, verification notes, measurements and units, issue descriptions and severity, corrective actions, before-and-after photo captions, activity history, and report records. You may also capture or select photos that contain people, property, documents, equipment, or other information visible in the image.
WoodCheck uses this content only to provide the local features you choose, such as organizing projects, calculating verified progress, keeping issue history, documenting corrective work, and generating PDF quality reports. Client, location, notes, custom measurements, and photos are optional; enter only what your project requires.
On-Device Processing and Local Storage
Projects, checklist templates, measurements, issues, inspection photos, generated PDFs, app preferences, and onboarding state are stored in WoodCheck's local application workspace. Checklist evaluation, progress calculation, search, photo processing, and PDF generation happen on the device.
The current WoodCheck release uses no developer account system, developer-hosted project server, CloudKit synchronization, third-party analytics SDK, or advertising SDK. We do not collect your project records through the app, build an advertising profile from them, or sell your personal information.
Camera and Photo Library
- Camera: WoodCheck requests camera access only after you choose Take Photo. A captured image is resized and saved as a local inspection-photo copy inside the app's workspace.
- Photo Library: WoodCheck uses Apple's system photo picker when you choose Photo Library. The picker provides only the images you select; WoodCheck saves a local copy and does not write it back to your photo library.
- Photo responsibility: before photographing or importing people, private property, client documents, or restricted work areas, make sure you have any permission or consent required for your work.
If a selected image is stored in iCloud Photos, Apple may need to download it to your device before the system picker can provide it to WoodCheck. That transfer is controlled by Apple and your iCloud settings, not by a WoodCheck server.
PDF Reports, Saving, and Sharing
WoodCheck creates PDF reports offline and keeps generated report snapshots in its local Reports area. A report may contain the project name, client and location details, dates, checklist results, measurements, notes, issue descriptions, severity, corrective actions, activity history, and inspection photos.
Share PDF and Save PDF open Apple's system share sheet or file picker only after you choose the action. You select the recipient or destination. If you save or send a report to Files, iCloud Drive, email, messages, another app, a printer, or another person, that copy leaves WoodCheck's local workspace and is handled under the destination's terms and privacy practices. Review each report and destination before exporting.
Ratings and Apple Services
If you choose Rate WoodCheck, or after eligible completed work, the app may ask iOS to display Apple's standard rating interface. Apple decides whether the interface appears and handles the rating interaction under Apple's own terms. WoodCheck does not include your projects, checklists, measurements, photos, issues, or PDFs in that request.
Backup, Retention, and Device Changes
WoodCheck marks its local Database, Photos, and Reports directories as excluded from automatic cloud device backups. The app does not provide cloud sync, account recovery, or an import path that restores editable projects from a PDF. Save important report copies to a destination you control before deleting the app, erasing the device, or moving to another device.
Local records remain until you delete them in WoodCheck or remove the app. Device storage failure, device loss, or app removal may permanently remove records that you have not exported.
Deletion
Deleting a project deletes its local inspection records and associated inspection photos. Previously generated PDF reports remain in Reports until you delete those report snapshots separately. Deleting a custom checklist template does not alter copies already added to projects. Removing WoodCheck deletes its local app container.
Copies already shared or saved outside WoodCheck must be deleted separately from Files, cloud storage, email, messages, another app, a printer queue, a recipient's device, or any other destination where you placed them.
Data Security
Keeping records inside the app's local container reduces routine transmission, but no device or storage method is guaranteed to be completely secure. Protect your iPhone with a passcode, keep iOS updated, restrict access to unlocked devices, and remove confidential client or site information that is not required. You are responsible for protecting copies you export or share.
Children's Privacy
WoodCheck is a woodworking inspection and documentation utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information through a WoodCheck account or developer-hosted project service because those services are not provided.
Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
WoodCheck is a checklist, documentation, and workflow aid. It does not inspect physical work, verify your observations, certify workmanship, prove regulatory compliance, or provide architectural, engineering, building-code, occupational-safety, contractual, insurance, evidentiary, or legal advice. A Pass, N/A, resolved issue, completed stage, progress percentage, or final report reflects records entered in the app and is not an independent approval, warranty, or professional certification.
You are responsible for selecting appropriate checks; verifying drawings, dimensions, tolerances, materials, loads, joinery, hardware, machine setup, site conditions, client requirements, and applicable codes; preserving any records your work requires; and following manufacturer instructions and safe workshop practices. Do not proceed with fabrication, installation, machine operation, or handover based solely on WoodCheck output.
The app and its output are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, JiaBao Dai and WoodCutTool are not liable for missed defects, inaccurate or incomplete records, data loss, privacy incidents, rejected reports, rework, material waste, project delay, failed inspection or handover, property damage, personal injury, or any other loss or claim arising from your use of, reliance on, sharing of, or inability to access WoodCheck or its output.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated when WoodCheck's features or data practices change. The revised page will show a new Last Updated date. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate app or store notice when required.
