PoolPilot is an offline-first pool service app. Its core records and calculations stay in the app's local workspace on your device. PoolPilot requires no account and has no developer-operated server that receives your service data. You decide when to export or share a copy.
Information You Add
You may enter customer names, phone numbers, email addresses, addresses and notes; pool names, types, dimensions, volume, sanitizer, surface and photos; water readings and test notes; and service dates, checklists, chemicals used, technician notes, photos and customer or technician signatures. Company profile details and a logo are optional. This information can identify customers, workers and private property, so record only what your work requires.
The app uses these details to organize customers and pools, record water tests and visits, calculate planning estimates, and create service reports. It does not use them for advertising or profiling.
Local Storage and Processing
PoolPilot stores customer, pool, test, visit and company records in local SwiftData storage. Selected photos, camera photos, signatures and the logo are saved as files in the app's local Application Support area. Units, report preferences, onboarding state and App Store review-prompt state are held in local app storage or preferences. Volume, water-range, saturation and chemical-dose calculations and PDF generation run on the device.
The current app has no account, developer backend, CloudKit sync, analytics SDK, advertising SDK or in-app purchase system. PoolPilot does not send your records to WoodCutTool, sell them, or track activity across apps and websites.
Camera, Photo Library and Signatures
PoolPilot uses Apple's system photo picker when you choose a pool photo, service photo or company logo. The picker supplies the images you select. A service visit can also use the camera when you choose to take a photo and grant iOS camera access. Selected or captured images are saved as local JPEG files and may contain people, property or other sensitive details.
You can draw customer and technician signatures for a service visit. Signature images remain local until you include them in an exported backup or share a report containing them. PoolPilot does not verify a signer's identity or provide a remote signing service.
Reports, Exports and Sharing
PoolPilot creates service-report PDFs on the device. A report can contain customer and pool details, water readings, service work, chemicals, photos, signatures and company information. Settings let you choose whether reports include photos and reference ranges. You can preview a report, save a PDF through the iOS Files interface or share it through the system share sheet.
You can export a service-history CSV containing dates, customer and pool names, technician, status and notes. A complete JSON backup contains customer, pool, test, visit and company records plus embedded media, including photos and signatures. These files can contain confidential information. The app does not choose the destination or upload them automatically; the storage provider, recipient or app you select handles copies after export. Review the file and destination before sharing.
Import, Retention and Deletion
Records remain on your device until you delete them, replace them with an imported backup, or remove the app. Importing a JSON backup requires your selection and confirmation and replaces local customer, pool, test and visit records and the company profile. Keep a separate copy before importing. Deleting a customer also deletes its linked pools, tests and visits; deleting a pool deletes its tests and visits; deleting a visit deletes its local photos and signatures.
Removing PoolPilot removes its local app container, subject to any Apple-managed device backups enabled in your settings. PoolPilot has no developer-operated cloud backup or cross-device sync. Files you previously exported, shared or saved outside the app must be deleted at those destinations separately. Apple-managed backups, iCloud Photos and third-party destinations follow their own terms and settings.
App Store Ratings and Apple Services
If you select Rate PoolPilot, or after eligible completed service visits, the app may ask iOS to show Apple's standard rating prompt. Prompt eligibility is tracked in local preferences; Apple decides whether the prompt appears and handles any rating. PoolPilot does not attach customer, pool, water-test, photo, signature or report data to the request.
Security and Your Responsibilities
Local storage limits routine transmission but no device or storage method is completely secure. Protect your iPhone with a passcode, keep iOS updated, and protect exported PDFs, CSV files and JSON backups. Obtain any permission needed to store customer information, photos or signatures, and avoid including sensitive records in support messages unless necessary.
Children's Privacy
PoolPilot is a work utility and is not directed to children under 13. The app provides no account or developer-operated service for collecting children's information.
