CounterFit is an offline-first countertop measurement and quoting app. Core project records, estimates and PDF generation are processed on your device. No account is required, and there is no developer-operated server that receives your project workspace. You choose when to export, print or share a copy.
Information You Add
You may enter project names, dates, status and notes; customer names, phone numbers, email addresses and property addresses; room and countertop dimensions, layouts, cutouts, seams, edges, backsplashes and waterfall details; and material specifications, suppliers, prices, waste allowances, charges, taxes, discounts and quote terms.
Saved materials can include an image, notes and a last-used date. Optional company settings include a company and contractor name, phone, email, address, website, license information and logo. The app uses these details to organize your work, calculate estimates and create quotes. Record only the customer and property information you need.
Local Storage and Processing
Projects and saved materials are stored in the app's local SwiftData workspace, including selected material images. Company details, the logo, measurement and currency preferences, default rates, PDF options, onboarding choices and review-prompt eligibility are stored in local preferences. Calculations and PDF generation run on the device; generated PDFs and JSON backups are initially written to the app's temporary storage.
The current app contains no account system, developer backend, analytics SDK, advertising SDK or in-app purchase system. It does not provide a developer-operated cloud sync service, transmit your project records to WoodCutTool, sell those records, or track you across apps and websites.
Selected Photos and PDF Signature Lines
CounterFit uses Apple's system photo picker when you choose a material image or company logo. The app receives the image you select, prepares a local image copy and stores it with the material or company preferences. There is no in-app camera capture workflow.
The PDF setting for a signature adds blank customer signature and date lines to a quote. The current app does not capture handwritten signatures, verify signer identity or operate an online signing service. A copy signed outside the app is handled by the person or service you choose.
PDF Quotes, Backups and Sharing
A PDF quote can contain project and customer details, layouts, measurements, material information, itemized prices, company details and a logo, notes, terms and optional blank signature lines. You can preview the PDF, share it through iOS or print it using the system printing interface. Creating a quote does not automatically send it to a customer.
A JSON backup includes projects, saved materials and their images, and backed-up company and app settings, including the logo. Backups are ordinary JSON files and are not password-encrypted by CounterFit. Use Share backup file to save or send a copy through a destination you select. PDFs and backups may contain confidential information; review the contents and recipient before sharing.
Apple, a printer, a file provider, a recipient or another app may handle a copy after you choose an export, sharing or printing destination. Their handling is governed by their own policies and your settings.
Import, Retention and Deletion
Importing a supported CounterFit JSON backup adds projects and materials whose identifiers are not already in the current workspace. Existing records with matching identifiers are kept rather than overwritten. Backed-up settings, when present, are applied to the current preferences, including company information and defaults. Export a current backup before importing if you want to retain a separate copy of your current settings.
You can delete projects from Projects and saved materials from Materials, and remove a company logo in Settings. Archiving a project keeps its data. Removing the app removes its local app container, subject to any Apple-managed device backups. Temporary generated files may be cleared by the operating system. Keep important exports somewhere you control.
CounterFit has no developer-held workspace copy to restore or delete for you. Files already exported, printed, shared or saved outside the app must be handled separately. Apple-managed device backups and any cloud file destination you choose depend on your system settings and the provider's policies.
Apple Ratings and Services
After eligible successful PDF quotes, CounterFit may request Apple's standard App Store rating prompt. Eligibility uses locally stored project identifiers, app version and request timing. Apple decides whether the prompt appears and handles any rating you submit; project contents and customer details are not attached to the prompt request.
Support Messages and Website Visits
If you email support, we receive the email address, message and attachments you choose to send and use them to respond and troubleshoot. Do not include customer details, full backups, property addresses or confidential pricing unless they are necessary; use a small example with identifying details removed where possible.

Protecting Your Data
Protect your iPhone with a passcode, keep iOS updated and store exported files securely. Local processing does not make a device, backup or shared file immune to unauthorized access. Obtain appropriate permission before recording another person's details or including them in a quote.
Children's Privacy
CounterFit is a countertop planning and quoting utility and is not directed to children under 13. It provides no account or developer-operated service for collecting children's information.
