Shelf Planner Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Shelf Planner handles cabinet dimensions, shelf layouts, saved projects, sag inputs, notes, settings, measurement text, and PDF exports on iPhone and iPad.

Effective Date: September 3, 2026 | Last Updated: September 3, 2026

Shelf Planner is designed as a local-first cabinet shelf planning tool. Its spacing, 32mm-system, visualization, sag-estimate, project, reference, text, and PDF workflows run on your device. Shelf Planner does not require a developer account and does not upload your projects to a Shelf Planner server.

Information You Enter or Create

You may enter or create project names, cabinet interior height, width and depth, shelf count, shelf thickness, top and bottom offsets, custom shelf positions, 32mm-system preference, first-hole offset, notes, measurement-unit and fraction settings, PDF-content preferences, and sag inputs such as span, depth, thickness, material category, and load. Saved project records also include creation and modification dates generated by the app.

The app uses this information to calculate shelf spacing and measurement lists, draw the cabinet layout, calculate nearby 32mm positions, estimate sag, save and reopen projects, create text summaries, and produce the PDF you request. You decide what to enter; avoid placing unnecessary confidential information in project names or notes.

On-Device Processing and Local Storage

Saved Shelf Planner projects are written as app data in the application's private support area on your device. Preferences—including units, fraction precision, default shelf thickness, default material, and PDF options—are stored in device preferences. Spacing, 32mm positions, measurement lists, diagrams, sag estimates, text summaries, and PDF creation are processed locally.

The current Shelf Planner release does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs, does not declare collected data in its Apple privacy manifest, and does not operate a developer-hosted account, analytics, cloud-sync, or project-storage service. The developer does not receive your cabinet dimensions, shelf layouts, notes, sag inputs, settings, measurement lists, or PDFs through the app.

Accounts, Advertising, Tracking, and Data Sales

Shelf Planner does not require an account, email sign-in, password, public profile, or team workspace. It is not built around advertising profiles, cross-app tracking, third-party data brokerage, or developer-operated analytics. We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Clipboard, Text Sharing, and PDF Exports

When you tap a copy action, Shelf Planner places the selected measurement or complete measurement list on the iOS system pasteboard. Other apps or devices may be able to read pasted or synchronized clipboard content according to your Apple settings and actions. Do not copy project information that you do not want available on the pasteboard.

When you choose to share the measurement list, Shelf Planner provides the generated text to Apple's system share sheet. When you export a PDF, the app creates a temporary PDF file on the device. Depending on your PDF settings, the file may contain the project name, cabinet dimensions, diagram, shelf positions, 32mm hole numbers, sag inputs and estimate, and project notes.

You decide whether to save, print, send, or provide the text or PDF to another app, service, device, printer, or recipient. Those destinations may process or retain the content under their own terms and privacy policies. Copies outside Shelf Planner are not controlled or automatically deleted by Shelf Planner.

Apple System Services

Shelf Planner uses Apple-provided system services when you choose to use them, including the pasteboard, share sheet, app-language settings, device backups, and App Store review prompt. Apple may process information associated with those services under Apple's policies and your device or Apple Account settings.

Shelf Planner does not receive your destination-app credentials, the contents of unrelated files, or the rating and review text you submit to the App Store. Apple decides whether an in-app review prompt is displayed.

Permissions and Device Access

  • Local app storage: used to save projects, cabinet measurements, shelf positions, notes, sag inputs, settings, and preferences.
  • System pasteboard: written only when you choose a copy action for a measurement or measurement list.
  • Share sheet, Files, or printing: used through iOS only when you choose where to send, save, or print measurement text or an exported PDF.
  • App-language settings: the Settings screen can open Shelf Planner's page in Apple's Settings app so you can choose a language.
  • App Store review prompt: requested through StoreKit after eligible successful actions or when you choose to rate the app; Apple decides whether to display it.
  • Apple-managed backups: depending on your device and Apple Account settings, locally stored app data may be included in a device or iCloud backup managed by Apple.
  • Camera, photos, microphone, contacts, and location: the current Shelf Planner release does not request these permissions for its planning workflow.

Data Retention and Deletion

Saved project records and app preferences remain on your device until you delete them or remove the app. Deleting a project removes that project from Shelf Planner's local project store. Removing the app generally removes its local application data, subject to any Apple-managed backup you have enabled.

PDFs, copied text, printed copies, messages, email attachments, and files shared with another person, app, device, printer, or service must be deleted separately at each destination. Before deleting Shelf Planner or moving to another device, export any plan you need to keep and review your Apple backup settings.

Security

Shelf Planner relies on iOS application sandboxing and stores project data in the app's private container. No storage method can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device with a strong passcode, keep iOS updated, review device backups and shared exports, and avoid entering confidential information that is unnecessary for shelf planning.

Children's Privacy

Shelf Planner is a woodworking utility and is not directed to children under 13. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a Shelf Planner account or backend because Shelf Planner does not operate those services. If you believe a child has sent information directly to the developer in a support request, contact us so it can be addressed.

Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability

Shelf Planner is provided solely as a general calculation, visualization, estimating, reference, and planning aid. Its shelf spacing, clear openings, dimensions, positions, 32mm hole indexes, conversions, diagrams, material references, sag estimates, recommended spans or thicknesses, measurement lists, and PDF outputs depend on the inputs and assumptions you provide. Results may be incomplete, inaccurate, or unsuitable for a specific cabinet, material, load, support, jig, machine, hardware system, installation, site condition, or code requirement.

Shelf Planner does not provide structural engineering, architectural, construction, workplace-safety, legal, regulatory, or code-compliance advice. Its sag calculation uses representative stiffness values and a simplified model; it is not a certified load rating or a substitute for material-specific test data, manufacturer instructions, or professional review.

Before purchasing, cutting, drilling, loading, assembling, installing, or relying on any Shelf Planner result, independently verify every source measurement, unit conversion, shelf position, opening, thickness, offset, datum, 32mm hole number, front and rear setback, hardware clearance, span, material property, load, support condition, fastener, tool setup, and exported value. Obtain review from a qualified professional where the work or risk requires it.

Woodworking, cutting, drilling, lifting, and installation can cause property damage, serious injury, or death. Follow all tool, material, hardware, and workplace instructions and use suitable training, guarding, dust control, workholding, hearing and eye protection, and other personal protective equipment. Never rely on the app when an error could create an unsafe condition.

The app, website, references, calculations, diagrams, estimates, text, and exports are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability, non-infringement, availability, or regulatory compliance. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JiaBao Dai and WoodCutTool are not liable for any incorrect measurement or cut, material waste, sag or failure, rework, project delay, lost data, equipment damage, property damage, personal injury, or any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other loss arising from use of or reliance on Shelf Planner. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Shelf Planner's features, data practices, or legal requirements change. The Last Updated date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
