PrivateMind is an iOS app for on-device AI conversations. After you choose to download a compatible language model, the core chat experience is designed to run locally on your iPhone. This policy describes the app's intended handling of information and the important terms that apply to downloadable third-party models.
Information You Enter or Create
You may enter prompts, messages, notes, conversation titles, and other text into PrivateMind. You may also create local conversation history, choose a model, configure app or generation settings, and manage downloaded model files. This information is used to provide the local conversation experience and the settings you choose.
On-Device Processing and Local Storage
PrivateMind is designed so that the selected model processes your prompts and generates responses on your device after the model is downloaded. Your local conversations, settings, and downloaded model files are stored on your iPhone for the core workflow. If you delete a conversation, a model, or the app, the associated local data may be removed, subject to any Apple-managed device backups you have enabled.
Model Downloads and Network Use
PrivateMind uses network access when you choose to browse available models or download a model file and related metadata. A download can include the model file, format and version details, model card or documentation, license or notice, and available integrity or provenance information. Download activity may necessarily communicate with the server or content-delivery provider that hosts the requested file, which may process technical connection information such as IP address, device/network details, request time, and transfer data under its own privacy policy.
Third-Party Models, Licenses, and Certificates
Models made available in PrivateMind may be created, released, hosted, or licensed by third parties. Examples may include Qwen2.5 Instruct and SmolLM2 Instruct model variants, but the available list can change. Each model remains subject to its applicable upstream license, acceptable-use terms, attribution requirements, model card, and other notices. Review the model information shown in the app before downloading or using a model.
Where an upstream provider supplies a license document, attribution notice, checksum, digital signature, certificate, model card, or other provenance or integrity information with a model, PrivateMind may present, link to, retain, or use that information as part of the download experience. Those materials are provided by the relevant third party. They do not transfer ownership of the model to you, do not expand your rights beyond the applicable license, and do not guarantee a model's accuracy, safety, legality, security, availability, or fitness for a particular purpose.
What We Do Not Sell
We do not sell your personal information. PrivateMind is not designed around advertising profiles, third-party data brokerage, public social feeds, or a public prompt directory.
Accounts, Sharing, and Backups
PrivateMind does not require an account for its core local conversation workflow. If the app offers an export, share, copy, backup, or iOS share-sheet action and you choose to use it, the selected content is passed to the destination you explicitly choose. That destination may handle the content under its own terms and privacy policy. Apple-managed backups are controlled through your Apple account and device settings.
Permissions
- Network access: used only when you choose to browse or download a model, related metadata, or an app-provided update that requires a connection.
- On-device storage: used to save local conversations, app settings, and downloaded model files.
- Share sheet, export, or copy actions: used only when you choose to send, export, or copy selected content through iOS.
- Apple-managed backups: controlled through your Apple account and device settings.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete local conversations, settings, and downloaded models from within PrivateMind where controls are available. You may also remove the app from your device to delete locally stored data, subject to Apple-managed backups. Deleting a local copy does not delete content that you independently exported, shared, copied, backed up, or sent to another service.
Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
PrivateMind and its models are provided for reflection and general assistance only. Model output can be inaccurate, incomplete, biased, offensive, outdated, insecure, or otherwise unsuitable. You must independently evaluate and verify every response before relying on it, especially where an error could cause harm, loss, or a legal or financial consequence.
PrivateMind does not provide medical, mental-health, legal, financial, investment, tax, emergency, safety, employment, or other professional advice. It is not a crisis or emergency service. Do not rely on a model response to diagnose, treat, prevent, or manage a medical or mental-health condition, make an emergency decision, or replace a qualified professional. If you or someone else may be in immediate danger or needs urgent assistance, contact local emergency services or an appropriate qualified professional.
Third-party models, their files, licenses, notices, certificates, hosting, availability, and output are outside the developer's control. You are responsible for choosing a model, complying with all applicable upstream terms, securing your device and local data, reviewing outputs, and determining whether use is lawful and appropriate for your purpose. The app and its content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, JiaBao Dai and WoodCutTool are not liable for any loss, injury, claim, data loss, privacy incident, service interruption, decision, or other consequence arising from your use of, reliance on, download of, inability to access, or interaction with PrivateMind or a third-party model.
Children's Privacy
PrivateMind is intended for general iPhone users and is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can help review the concern.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when PrivateMind, available models, privacy practices, platform requirements, or legal requirements change. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised last updated date.
