FabricNest is an offline fabric cutting planner for iPhone and iPad. Project storage, nesting calculations, comparisons and PDF generation run on your device. No account is required, and there is no developer-operated server receiving your project workspace. You choose when to export, share or print a copy.
Information You Add
Your projects can contain project and fabric names, creation and update dates, display units, fabric width and stock length, edge margins, spacing, grain and rotation settings, prices and purchasing increments. Pieces can contain names, dimensions, quantities, seam allowances, colors, rotation settings and notes.
The app also saves calculated layouts, numbered piece placements and coordinates, comparison results, cutting progress and a previous plan for restoration. This information is used to organize projects, calculate fabric requirements and create cutting reports. Names and notes may contain personal or confidential information if you choose to enter it.
Local Storage and Processing
The project library is saved as a JSON file in the app's local Application Support directory. Unit and appearance preferences, onboarding completion and App Store review-prompt history are stored in local preferences. Review history includes project identifiers, app version and request timing. Generated PDF reports are initially written to temporary storage on the device.
The current app has no login, developer backend, cloud synchronization, analytics SDK, advertising SDK, tracking or in-app purchase system. FabricNest does not upload your projects to WoodCutTool, sell project records or track activity across apps and websites. All current app features are available without a subscription.
Device Access
FabricNest does not request camera, photo-library, microphone, contacts or location access. Its colored fabric artwork and cutting diagrams are drawn by the app. When you restore a backup, Apple's Files interface gives the app access to the JSON file you select. When you export, share or print, you choose the destination using system interfaces.
PDF Reports, JSON Backups and Sharing
A PDF report can contain project and fabric names, dimensions, prices, comparison metrics, a cutting map, piece numbers and coordinates, seam allowances, notes and cutting progress. JSON backups include saved projects, parameters, layouts, previous plans and progress. Display and appearance preferences and review-prompt history are not part of the project backup.
Backup files are ordinary JSON files and are not password-encrypted by FabricNest. Review the contents before sharing and keep backups somewhere you control. Creating a report or saving a project does not automatically send it to anyone.
If you save to a cloud file provider, share to another app or recipient, or print a report, that destination may receive a copy. Apple's services, file providers, printers and recipients handle those copies according to their own policies and your settings.
Backup, Retention and Deletion
FabricNest marks its project directory as excluded from automatic cloud backup. It provides no developer-operated cloud backup or cross-device sync. Export a JSON backup from Settings before deleting the app, replacing a device or making changes you may want to undo; do not rely on an automatic device backup to preserve the project library.
Restoring a valid backup merges projects by identifier after confirmation: imported versions replace matching local projects, and other local projects remain. Export your current library first if you want to keep the versions being replaced.
You can delete a project from its actions menu after confirmation. Deletion removes it from the saved local library. Removing the app removes its local app container; temporary report files may also be cleared by iOS. Previously exported or shared files and printed copies must be handled separately at their destinations. We hold no server copy of your library to recover or delete for you.
Apple Ratings and System Services
After eligible successful PDF reports, FabricNest may request Apple's standard App Store rating prompt. Eligibility is recorded locally. Apple decides whether the prompt appears and handles any rating you submit. Project contents, fabric dimensions, prices and notes are not attached to the rating request.
Changing the app language opens FabricNest's page in Apple Settings. File export, sharing, printing and App Store services are provided by the operating system or the destination you select and may use a network independently of FabricNest's offline planning features.
Support Messages and Website Visits
If you email support, we receive the sender address, message and attachments you choose to send and use them to respond and troubleshoot. Use a small example with identifying or confidential details removed. A full project backup is not required for an initial support request.
This policy describes the FabricNest app. Visiting these web pages is a website visit; website hosting and usage practices are described in the WoodCutTool website Privacy Policy.
Protecting Your Data
Use a device passcode, keep your operating system updated and protect exported reports and backups. Local storage does not make a device or shared file immune to unauthorized access. Include only the personal or confidential information you need in names and notes.
Children's Privacy
FabricNest is a fabric planning utility and is not directed to children under 13. It provides no account or developer-operated service for collecting children's information.
Changes and Contact
We may update this policy when app features or data practices change. The Last Updated date above identifies the revision. For privacy questions, contact JiaBao Dai at 298030287@qq.com. For product help, visit FabricNest Support.
